Below are some of the most frequently asked questions. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch. Our team will be happy to help you!
What age are students?
Our Full Time course is for those aged 18-28. We do have evening short courses available for those over this age or who cannot commit to the Full Time course.
What is the application process?
Once you have applied online you will be invited to an online interview. If you are successful at this stage we will arrange a follow up interview with the department you have chosen to serve.
When do applications close?
Applications can be made right up to the start date; however we would advise you to give yourself time to arrange housing and other practicalities before the course starts.
Will I be able to get a student loan to help me with my fees?
LIFE 10 students are currently unable to access government student loans. However it is possible for students to receive an extra 25% of funds donated to them if they are given through an organisation called Stewardship. Visit Stewardship.org.uk Individuals: Receiving support while training for ministry.
I am married with children – can I/we still do the course?
We often enrol couples with children on the full time course. Sometimes the couple may both be doing the course, other times only one of them will be doing the course. If you are a couple and you are thinking of relocating to Bradford to come and study with us, please get in touch with us so we can help and guide you with this. Alternatively, the short courses might be more appropriate for families with children as they allow flexibility around work and childcare.
I can’t make it to any of the open days – can I come visit another time?
Yes, we encourage every potential student to come and visit beforehand. Please contact us via hello@lifechurchhome.com to arrange a visit.
What pastoral support is available to students?
As students work alongside the staff team in their ministry area, they have regular opportunities to talk through anything they may be struggling with. The LIFE10 team is always available for conversations, and as a church we can signpost students to further pastoral support and professional counselling if required.
How easy is it to find work in Bradford?
Bradford is a large city with a population of 500,000. The city centre is about 15 minutes walk from the church campus and has many shops and other places that full time students might find employment. There are also opportunities to work in surrounding cities/towns such as Leeds or Halifax, both a 20 minutes train ride away from the City Centre.
